"Minimal Meets Monumental"
At the Rajnandgaon Gurudwara, the forecourt acts as the threshold between the outside world and the spiritual space within. ISTAKA designed a paved surface that supports large pedestrian movement while maintaining the calm dignity expected of a sacred environment. The result is a minimal yet expressive ground plane that quietly guides visitors from arrival to prayer.
The design relies entirely on the interplay of format and color within the Quadra paver system. A light charcoal base establishes a calm visual field, while flowing ribbons of Void Black pavers create arcs that guide movement across the forecourt. These sweeping bands add rhythm and direction without introducing additional materials, ensuring visual continuity and long-term maintenance simplicity
Quadra 200 – Base paver establishing a calm, unified ground plane. Quadra 100 – Accent paver in circular patterns, adding visual rhythm and wayfinding.
